Ουάου, Joy Division! Υπόψιν ότι είναι οι Joy Division όχι ο Joy Divison, το όνομα προέρχεται από το \"μοίρασμα\" των κρατουμένων (γυναικών...) που κάναν οι ναζί στα στρατόπεδα συγκέντρωσης. Ο αρχηγός της μπάντας ήταν ο Ian Curtis και δυστυχώς αυτοκτόνησε μετά το δεύτερο αλμπουμ, οδηγόντας την μπάντα να αλλάξει όνομα και να γίνουν το επίσης θρυλικό (πολύ \"ελαφρύτερο\" βέβαια) 80s synth-pop γκρουπ New Order.


Σε παρόμοιο στιλ με Joy Division άλλοι πολύ καλοί ήταν οι The Cure, The Smiths, Bauhaus, Sad Lovers & Giants, Cocteau Twins, The Sound, Comsat Angels, The Chameleons, Echo & The Bunnymen, Sisters of Mercy, Siousxie & The Banshees, Jesus & Mary Chain, Clan of Xymox, Swans, Mephisto Walz κλπ. και μπορώ να πω ότι γουστάρω πολύ και εγώ (ποιο πολύ παλιότερα αλλά ακόμα ακούω καμιά φορά) αυτόν τον \"βαρύτερο\" 80s μανιο-καταθλιπτικό ροκ (post-punk/darkwave/goth) ήχο!
